About the Video Editor - Contract Role
This role offers the opportunity to shape the visual and emotional language of a unique children’s bedtime storytelling series at Twine. The project centers on creating a calm, cinematic experience for young viewers, blending multi-camera live action, illustrated book close-ups, and gentle animated character reactions. The editing style prioritizes slow, emotionally sensitive pacing, with a focus on narrative craft and restraint. You will collaborate remotely with a team dedicated to producing emotionally intentional and gentle content for children, starting with a paid test edit and the potential for ongoing episode work.
Deliverables
- Edit 10–11 minute episodes combining live action, illustrated book imagery, and subtle animated character reactions
- Implement three-camera workflows and synchronize multi-source footage
- Apply advanced color grading for a warm, low-contrast, bedtime-appropriate tone
- Composite gentle animated elements to enhance storytelling without overwhelming the visuals
- Balance dialogue and music for clarity and emotional impact, ensuring a soothing audio experience
- Maintain consistent pacing and emotional rhythm throughout each episode
- Collaborate with the creative team to refine the visual and narrative style
Requirements
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Strong experience with color grading and compositing animated elements
- Demonstrated skill in multi-camera editing workflows
- Deep understanding of narrative pacing, especially for children’s content
- Ability to balance audio for dialogue-first storytelling
- Sensitivity to emotional nuance and restraint in editing style
- Familiarity with children’s media and a passion for creating gentle, emotionally resonant stories
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work remotely
