About the Project Manager Role at Twine

This Project Manager role at Twine is designed for a hands-on professional with extensive experience in data or analytics engineering projects. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the seamless delivery of data engineering initiatives, collaborating closely with technical teams and various business stakeholders. Your responsibilities will include facilitating sprint planning sessions, daily standups, and retrospectives, with the flexibility to adapt processes to suit the team's specific workflow. This position supports diverse projects, including data pipelines (ETL/ELT), API development, system integrations, data warehousing, data modeling, and data quality monitoring.

This is a US-based, remote contract role, initially requiring 10–20 hours per week, with significant potential for a long-term collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage data engineering project delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and priority alignment.
  • Collaborate effectively with data engineers and business stakeholders to clearly define project scope and requirements.
  • Deconstruct complex work into precise, actionable tasks, complete with acceptance criteria.
  • Facilitate sprint planning, daily standups, and retrospectives, or implement agile-light alternatives.
  • Monitor project timelines, identify and mitigate risks, manage dependencies, and proactively address blockers.
  • Maintain a straightforward, current project roadmap for clear visibility.
  • Deliver concise and relevant status updates to all involved stakeholders.
  • Champion process improvement initiatives and ensure thorough documentation.
  • Oversee projects encompassing data pipelines, APIs, integrations, data warehousing (including Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift, dbt), and robust data quality monitoring.

Skills And Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience managing projects specifically within data or analytics engineering teams.
  • Profound understanding of technical concepts such as SQL, data schemas, ETL/ELT pipelines, and data warehousing.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills, adept at translating technical discussions into actionable plans.
  • Proven experience with agile methodologies and leading sprint ceremonies.
  • Competence in tracking and managing project risks, dependencies, and deliverables effectively.
  • Comfortable working autonomously in a remote environment.
  • Must be based in the United States.
  • Availability for 10–20 hours per week, with a strong preference for long-term engagement.
