Role Overview

This role offers an exciting opportunity for a creative Illustrator to bring a series of Irish-language children's board books to life. The project centers on illustrating classic songs in Gaeilge, with each book featuring six unique page spreads. The books are designed to help families celebrate and share their heritage, culture, and language across generations. While the cover template will have a consistent title placement, you will have full creative freedom for the interior artwork. The initial commitment is for three to four books over the coming months, with the potential for further collaboration as the series expands. Final artwork should be delivered in PSD or PDF format, ensuring high-quality, print-ready files suitable for board book production.

Deliverables

• Create engaging, child-friendly illustrations for six page spreads per book, each depicting a different public domain song in Gaeilge.
• Design covers following a provided template for title placement, maintaining visual consistency across the series.
• Deliver final artwork in PSD or PDF format, optimized for board book printing.
• Collaborate closely to ensure illustrations align with the cultural and linguistic focus of the project.
• Meet project deadlines and be open to feedback and revisions as needed.

Requirements

• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience in children's book illustration or similar projects.
• Ability to create vibrant, expressive, and age-appropriate artwork that appeals to young children and families.
• Familiarity with Irish culture, heritage, or language is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop or equivalent illustration software.
• Excellent communication skills and responsiveness to feedback.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple book projects over several months.
• Availability for a single project with the possibility of follow-up work.
