Job Summary
The Freelance DevOps Engineer at Twine is a fully remote, 6–12 month contract role with potential extension. The candidate will support and optimize cloud infrastructure, work on AWS environments, automate deployment processes, and ensure the scalability and reliability of development operations.
Responsibilities
- Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and cost.
- Administer Ubuntu/Linux servers and support Windows Server environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins.
- Develop and manage containerized deployments with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support PHP/Magento environments for high availability and security.
- Write automation scripts to streamline operational processes.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot issues.
- Optionally support Microsoft Azure environments as needed.
- Ensure best practices in security, backup, and disaster recovery.
Skills and Requirements
- Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer focusing on AWS.
- Expertise in Ubuntu/Linux administration; Windows Server is a plus.
- Experience in building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
- Experience with PHP/Magento environments.
- Scripting skills in Bash, Python, or similar languages.
- Knowledge of infrastructure as code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Azure is a bonus.
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting.
