About the Role: Freelance DevOps Engineer
This freelance role at Twine is focused on supporting and optimizing cloud infrastructure. It is a fully remote position for a 6–12 month contract with potential extension based on performance.
Responsibilities
The Freelance DevOps Engineer is expected to:
- Manage, monitor, and optimize AWS cloud infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
- Administer Ubuntu/Linux servers and support Windows Server environments.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins preferred).
- Develop and manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Support PHP/Magento environments ensuring high availability and security.
- Write automation scripts to streamline operational processes.
- Collaborate with development and QA teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
- Optionally support Microsoft Azure environments when needed.
- Ensure adherence to best practices in security, backup, and disaster recovery.
Skills and Requirements
Candidates must have proven experience as a DevOps Engineer focusing on AWS cloud services, strong expertise in Ubuntu/Linux (with added value for Windows support), and proficiency in building CI/CD pipelines. Hands-on experience in Docker, Kubernetes, and scripting (Bash, Python, etc.) is essential. Familiarity with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation, and optional experience with Microsoft Azure are advantageous.
