About the Role: Brand Designer at Twine
Club Cali, an innovative ghost kitchen and catering service, is seeking a talented Brand Designer to forge a distinct brand identity. Inspired by California deli culture, this premium service targets film production crews and local professionals who value both exceptional quality and original concepts. The project demands a retro-modern, California-cool aesthetic that exudes freshness and artisanal craftsmanship, while also conveying reliability and creativity. The developed brand identity will be crucial for application across various touchpoints, including compostable packaging, delivery vehicles, and all digital platforms.
The ideal Brand Designer will possess a strong command of typography and a keen eye for visual storytelling. You will be instrumental in translating the unique soul of California’s iconic delis into a cohesive, memorable, and impactful brand presence.
Key Deliverables

- Create a simplified, stamp-style mark optimized for stickers and social media usage.
- Develop a comprehensive typographic system that captures a retro-modern, California-inspired aesthetic.
- Provide brand assets specifically optimized for use on compostable packaging, delivery vehicles, and digital platforms.
- Deliver all final files in multiple formats suitable for both print and digital applications.
Requirements
- Proven experience in brand identity design, with a preference for projects within the food, hospitality, or lifestyle sectors.
- A robust portfolio showcasing expertise in logo design, typography, and the creation of complete visual systems.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and effectively translate brand values into compelling visual concepts.
- Familiarity with retro and modern design trends, especially those drawing inspiration from California culture.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) or equivalent industry-standard design tools.
- Excellent communication skills and a strong aptitude for incorporating feedback efficiently.
- Availability for project-based work, with the potential for ongoing collaboration on future projects.
- Being based in or having familiarity with Wellington, New Zealand, is considered a valuable plus, though not a strict requirement.
