Job Description

Who We Are

At Twilio, we’re shaping the future of communications from our remote-first environment. We empower millions of developers worldwide to craft personalized customer experiences through innovative solutions. Our global inclusion and connection culture ensures that every team member, regardless of location, makes a daily impact. Your career growth at Twilio is actively supported.

We leverage Artificial Intelligence (AI) for hiring efficiency, though all final decisions are made by real Twilions.

About The Job

We are seeking a Web UX Designer to join Twilio’s Web Experience team. This role specializes in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) component creation, design, and usability. You will design composable, reusable component patterns and author-friendly experiences, enabling UI, marketing, and content teams to build pages quickly and accurately. Your responsibilities include defining interaction design and detailed specifications, optimizing AEM authoring and governance, and creating experiment-ready variants for A/B and multivariate testing.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the UX point of contact for stakeholders, gathering requirements and communicating complex designs clearly and persuasively, leading production projects to completion.
  • Design and document AEM components end-to-end: Define use cases, content models, composability rules, and constraints; Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and detailed interaction specifications (states, errors, keyboard/focus, responsiveness); Specify authoring dialogs, fields, validations, defaults, and inline guidance to improve authoring ease.
  • Produce complete specification packages: Annotated designs, redlines, acceptance criteria, accessibility requirements, and performance considerations.
  • Design for composability and scalability: Establish component variants, configurations, and policies to reduce bespoke builds; Ensure compatibility with templates, fragments, and localization workflows.
  • Optimize the AEM authoring experience: Conduct author usability checks; iterate on dialogs and help content; Assist with the creation of authoring guides, playbooks, and component documentation.
  • Design A/B and multivariate test variants; Review experiment results with analysts and iterate to improve conversion for our CRO initiative.
  • Work with Web Engineering to translate specifications into AEM Core Component extensions; partner with Brand/UI and Content to ensure fidelity and scalability.

Qualifications

Twilio values diverse experiences and encourages all qualified candidates to apply, regardless of traditional career paths. We seek individuals who bring new perspectives.

Required:
  • 3 to 5+ years designing CMS-driven web experiences; strong AEM experience preferred.
  • Expertise in interaction design, component-driven UX, and systems thinking (variants, states, patterns, responsiveness).
  • Ability to write clear component specifications: structure, behaviors, states, validations, accessibility, analytics/data layer, and test variants.
  • Deep familiarity with AEM Core Components, editable templates, policies, UX patterns, content/experience fragments, and authoring dialogs.
  • Experience designing for Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or similar enterprise CMS platforms.
  • Experience optimizing the authoring experience: field schemas, inline help, constraints, defaults, and error handling.
  • Understanding of A/B and multivariate testing and CRO; able to define hypotheses, variants, and success metrics.
  • Understanding of SaaS B2B marketing funnels and conversion principles.
  • Excellent communicator; collaborates effectively with UI designers, Engineers, Content, and Marketing stakeholders.
  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and how UX integrates with development.
  • Team player with strong collaboration skills.
Desired:
  • Comfort documenting patterns and best practices in wikis, design libraries, or internal playbooks.
  • Ability to create low-fidelity prototypes in HTML/CSS/JS or no-code tools to validate interaction patterns with authors and end-users.
  • Strong grounding in accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and experience designing for inclusive, keyboard/screen-reader-friendly experiences.

Location

This role is remote and based in Ontario, British Columbia, or Alberta, Canada.

Travel

Occasional travel may be required for project or team in-person meetings.
