About the Role
Join the Deployment Orchestration team under Platform Engineering as our next Software Engineer Platform Engineering. In this role, you will help provide product teams at Twilio with a safe, secure, and automated path to production by implementing progressive rollout strategies and robust guardrails.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy code and configuration for internal deployment tooling.
- Create tickets, spikes, runbooks, and product documentation.
- Operationalize Harness as a unified deployment platform with standardized pipeline templates.
- Own and operate both industry standard and custom deployment orchestration tooling.
- Support product teams with migrations and debugging deployment pipeline failures.
- Participate in a 24x7 weekly oncall rotation to ensure system uptime.
Qualifications
Required: 5+ years in software engineering on a platform engineering team; experience with GitHub, Jira, Slack, and Zoom; proficiency in Go, Java, Python, Terraform, YAML, Bash; experience with Kubernetes GitOps deployments (Argo CD, Argo Rollouts, Argo Workflows); AWS cloud experience (EC2, EKS, ASG, Aurora, IAM); and familiarity with SaaS/open source observability tools like Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus.
Desired: Experience with SaaS CI/CD tooling such as Harness, Buildkite, Terraform Cloud; and fluency with AI platforms (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot) to speed up development.
Location & Travel
This role is remote with hiring restrictions in CA, CT, NJ, NY, PA, WA. Occasional travel may be required for in-person meetings.
