About the Role: Senior DevOps Systems Engineer
In this role, you will design, build, and maintain a hybrid infrastructure spanning on-premises environments and AWS cloud. You will lead migration projects, modernize legacy systems, build and optimize CI/CD pipelines, implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC), and oversee containerization initiatives. You will mentor junior engineers, drive automation, and ensure operational excellence.
What You’ll Do
- Architect and enhance hybrid infrastructures (AWS and on-premises).
- Lead migration projects and integrate cloud-native solutions.
- Collaborate to design scalable and secure systems.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, and ArgoCD.
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation.
- Guide testing, monitoring, and incident response in production.
- Manage containerization and orchestration with Kubernetes, Docker, or ECS.
- Ensure hardware compatibility and maintain on-prem integrations.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies and mentor junior engineers.
What You Bring
- 8+ years of experience in systems engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles.
- Strong experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience managing on-premises infrastructure and virtualization.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code tools and CI/CD pipeline development.
- Experience with scripting languages like Python, Go, or Bash.
- Strong troubleshooting, incident response, and networking fundamentals knowledge.
- Experience with configuration management tools like SaltStack or Ansible.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
Compensation & Benefits
The base salary range for Canadian residents is CAD 130,000 to CAD 150,000. Tucows offers fair compensation, generous benefits, and a total rewards package.
