Principal of Review and AI Services
TruLegal is representing a global professional services organization focused on legal technology and innovation. We are seeking a Principal of Review and AI Services to lead high-stakes discovery and GenAI-enabled review efforts in complex litigation. This is a client-facing role for a seasoned JD with deep eDiscovery expertise. You will architect and execute AI-driven workflows, advise on tools like Harvey and EDAI, and engage with attorneys on sensitive investigations and DOJ matters. The position combines technical depth in prompt engineering, RAG, and statistical validation with hands-on matter leadership and team mentorship.

As a seasoned eDiscovery leader, you will shape the future of legal document review at the intersection of litigation strategy and AI. You have extensive experience managing complex reviews, investigations, and productions, and seek a platform to apply this expertise at scale. You will build and advance AI-enabled workflows within a sophisticated litigation practice. You thrive in a collaborative, high-performance environment, partnering directly with case teams, leading cross-functional initiatives, and defining how the firm integrates emerging technology into legal practice.
Impact
Reporting to the Department Director, you will serve as a senior leader directing and supporting a team of advisors, project managers, and data science specialists. Your role is to define and execute workflows for document analysis and production, aiding attorneys in fact development throughout litigations, investigations, and regulatory responses. You will contribute to firm innovation by providing operational perspectives on emerging technology adoption and evolving firm capabilities.
Design & Execution of Review Workflows and Analytics
Partner with stakeholders to develop strategies for embedding AI and analytics into standardized review, validation, and production workflows. Collaborate with legal process engineers to define and build workflows connecting discovery tasks with early fact investigation, deposition preparation, expert report analysis, and other fact development projects. Work with leadership to ensure workflows are forward-looking, evaluating emerging technologies, assessing their applicability, and recommending adoption and implementation.
Client-Matter Advisory
Over 50% of your time will be dedicated to direct client-matter engagement as a trusted advisor embedded within case teams. You will develop substantive case knowledge to deliver high-value consulting and inform workflow design. Champion firm best practices in review workflows, team collaboration, and matter documentation to ensure defensibility and consistency.
Team Building & Growth

You will play an active role in building team capabilities, focusing on analytics and GenAI-enabled review practices. What You’ll Bring
- Juris Doctorate required.
- Extensive experience delivering consultative eDiscovery services, managing complex reviews, investigations, document review, production, and privilege workflows.
- Demonstrated experience designing, iterating, and validating GenAI-assisted document review workflows, with hands-on proficiency in LLM-based review tools.
- Ability to develop and refine model prompts, apply statistical validation techniques (recall, precision, elusion testing), and produce defensible AI methodology documentation.
- Working understanding of the end-to-end litigation and investigation lifecycle, identifying opportunities for technology and AI integration.
- Working knowledge of LLM capabilities and limitations (hallucination risks, consistency), and ability to apply GenAI solutions across the review lifecycle (summarization, PII identification, ECA).
- Practical expertise in prompt engineering, content engineering, RAG, and AI orchestration frameworks.
- Technical understanding of knowledge graphs, ontologies, and their application to legal data classification and entity relationships.
- Experience advancing eDiscovery team maturity through standardization, training, and technology adoption.
- Exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and a collaborative approach.
- Strong communication skills, ability to engage clients and attorneys at all levels.
- Hands-on familiarity with general-purpose legal AI tools (e.g., Harvey, Legora) is preferred.
- Experience distinguishing legal AI tools from purpose-built eDiscovery review technologies and identifying the right use cases for each.
- Demonstrated expertise in advanced project management, complex data processing, litigation readiness, and/or information governance consulting is preferred.
- Experience working hands-on with TAR and analytics tools (e.g., Brainspace, NexLP) is preferred, especially applying CAL/CMML for various predictive modeling tasks.
