About the role
About the Role
TruLegal is seeking an Innovation Product Lead to spearhead the strategy and optimization of core AI platforms for a major global law firm. This role uniquely blends product management, vendor strategy, and legal tech innovation. You will manage crucial relationships with AI providers, define product roadmaps, and advise the firm on feature adoption, risk, and rollout. The ideal candidate possesses extensive SaaS and AI product lifecycle experience, a strong understanding of AI tools in enterprise environments, and the ability to influence both technical and business stakeholders. A key part of this role involves developing training strategies, driving user adoption, and evaluating technologies to ensure optimal tool utilization.
What You’ll Do
As a product-focused professional, you will operate at the intersection of product strategy, user experience, and technical operations. You have a proven history of achieving measurable outcomes throughout the full lifecycle of SaaS or enterprise technology products, from initial pilot to launch, adoption, optimization, and eventual retirement. You will champion the user's perspective, translating legal professional needs into actionable product requirements while also coordinating daily technical operations. Your approach will be collaborative, results-driven, and focused on applying emerging technologies to solve real business challenges.
Impact
Reporting to the Associate Director, you will serve as the firm’s product owner for a dedicated portfolio of innovation tools. Collaborating closely with the IT department, you will jointly drive product delivery, stability, and continuous improvement. You will own the product vision and user experience, while IT will manage infrastructure and technical execution.
Product Implementation & Lifecycle Management
You will lead the transition of products from pilot to production, overseeing governance reviews, vendor contracting, and technical implementation. Ensuring production readiness involves providing business context for architecture, risk, and security reviews; conducting User Acceptance Testing (UAT); developing change management materials; and advocating for user requirements to ensure strong adoption at launch.
Steady-State Application & Platform Support
You will be responsible for the day-to-day product health of assigned tools. This includes vendor management, roadmap planning, budgeting, and contract negotiation in partnership with IT and stakeholders. You will work with IT to triage and resolve issues and coordinate updates to minimize disruption for practice teams.
Technology Enablement & Adoption
You will create training programs, onboarding workflows, and supporting materials such as live demos, guides, and FAQs. You will manage user communications, including release notes and product announcements. User feedback and enhancement requests will be managed through a prioritized backlog, and regular product health reviews will be conducted using adoption, satisfaction, support, and ROI metrics to guide investment decisions.
Market Intelligence & Subject Matter Expertise
You will become the internal subject matter expert for your assigned products, maintaining in-depth knowledge of their capabilities and roadmaps. You will also monitor trends in legal tech and among vendors. Your role will include contributing to new product pilots, representing practice group requirements and user needs throughout the evaluation process.
What You’ll Bring
- Demonstrated product management experience delivering measurable outcomes across the full lifecycle of SaaS or enterprise technology products.
- Ability to build credibility with attorneys and senior leaders by translating business needs into clear technical requirements and influencing cross-functional teams in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Proven experience managing vendors end to end, including roadmap influence, contracts, SLAs, and escalations, using Agile methodologies and tools such as Jira, Aha! or Azure DevOps.
- Strong analytical skills with experience translating usage, adoption, and performance metrics into product decisions (Excel, Tableau, Power BI, or similar).
- Experience deploying or supporting AI-enabled tools in enterprise settings, with a solid understanding of AI/ML concepts and practical applications.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive communications, user documentation, and training delivery.
- A collaborative, client-first leader with a track record of delivering meaningful cross-functional impact.
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field.
- Experience in a law firm, professional services firm, or legal technology environment is preferred, with familiarity with legal workflows and client confidentiality requirements.
- Hands-on experience with a broad range of legal and practice management technologies is preferred, including document drafting, review, automation, search, and knowledge management tools.
