Job Description
Equity Research Associate - Software
Truist is seeking an Equity Research Associate to join their team. This role involves publishing proprietary equity research in industries aligned with the firm's Banking sectors, showcasing expertise and providing stock recommendations to institutional buy-side clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Create and publish proprietary equity research content with stock recommendations (Buy, Hold, Sell) for institutional buy-side clients.
- Conduct due diligence and provide industry expertise for capital markets equity transactions.
- Initiate C-suite corporate access resources for institutional equity clients, including non-deal roadshows, conferences, and calls.
- Conduct independent industry assessments and company-specific research reports.
- Engage with corporate client relationships at the C-Level (CEO, President, COO, CFO, Director of Strategy, etc.).
Level-Specific Duties
- Collaborate with senior analysts on research production and supervisory analysts on publication.
- Conduct research at macro, industry, and individual company levels.
- Build financial models for industries and companies, including market and market share forecasts, revenue, EPS, and cash flow forecasts.
- Perform financial and valuation analyses.
- Formulate investment ideas and write draft research commentary.
- Potentially work with Capital Markets, sales, and trading to leverage research products for clients.
- Maintain dialogue with representatives of covered companies, depending on experience and analyst needs.
- Engage with institutional buy-side clients to leverage research products, depending on experience and analyst needs.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in a relevant field.
- Required Licenses: SIE, Top Off (or Series 7), Series 63, Series 87, and either Series 86 or FINRA waiver for CFA II completion.
- Minimum of 4 years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in financial and accounting concepts for in-depth financial modeling.
- Advanced written and oral communication skills, and strong teaming ability.
- Strong analytical and sales skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Currently pursuing CFA Designation.
- 4+ years of related work experience.
