About The Role: Technical Communication Specialist at TruBridge

The TruBridge Encoder team is actively seeking a Technical Communication Specialist to join their ranks. In this crucial role, you will be responsible for creating, editing, and maintaining both video and written documentation for the TruBridge Encoder products. This encompasses SaaS and API offerings, as well as a legacy desktop application.

You will take full ownership of projects from initial concept to final delivery, ensuring the creation of clear, accurate, and comprehensive content for a diverse audience, including end-users, administrators, developers, and customer support. Collaboration with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will be key to understanding product enhancements and facilitating thorough content reviews.

What You Will Do

  • Develop a deep and thorough understanding of the TruBridge Encoder products.
  • Create high-quality technical videos and written content, navigating an environment with changing priorities and strict deadlines.
  • Design interactive, self-guided training courses utilizing both video and written content.
  • Analyze user stories and requirements, directly use the products, and communicate effectively with SMEs and stakeholders to gather essential information for content creation.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently from beginning to end, ensuring timely delivery.
  • Produce content both independently and collaboratively with team members.
  • Adhere to best practices and maintain consistency in all content creation efforts.
  • Collect and incorporate documentation review feedback to implement continuous improvements.
  • Actively participate in documentation planning, publishing, process refinement, and broader improvement initiatives.

What Success Looks Like

First Month
  • Focus on thoroughly learning the TruBridge Encoder products and internal processes.
  • Gain access to and familiarize yourself with all necessary systems and tools.
  • Develop a strong understanding of TruBridge Encoder products through hands-on use, demos, existing documentation, and tutorials.
  • While using documentation, identify and note any typos or inconsistencies.
  • Become proficient in updating documentation by correcting identified errors.
  • Meet team members to understand processes, establish communication, and learn about their needs and expertise.
Second Month
  • Begin contributing with guidance, continuing to deepen product and process knowledge.
  • Collaborate with trainers on developing educational videos and start drafting scripts for review.
  • Develop a clear understanding of documentation planning, review, and release processes.
  • Identify potential gaps or areas for improvement within existing processes.
  • Draft content for upcoming deliverables slated for the next product release.
Third Month
  • Operate independently as a fully contributing member of the team.
  • Take complete ownership of deliverables from their initial conception through to final publication.
  • Collaborate on the 2026 documentation planning, ensuring alignment with the product roadmap.
  • Work on plans for process and documentation improvement initiatives.

What We Are Looking For

Required Qualifications
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively within a collaborative team environment.
  • Experience working within an agile development methodology.
  • Excellent attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all work.
  • Proven experience in creating training videos and comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Familiarity with documentation and video editing tools such as MadCap Flare, MadCap Central, and Camtasia, or equivalent software.
  • Understanding of and practical experience with topic-based authoring and content reuse principles.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, including the ability to successfully manage multiple projects, documentation review cycles, and strict deadlines.
  • Provision of video and writing samples that showcase your professional work.
Nice to Have Qualifications
  • Experience with issue management and collaboration tools like Jira and Confluence, or similar platforms.
  • Experience with version control systems, specifically Git.
  • Knowledge of CSS and HTML.
