Role Overview

As a Senior Talent Researcher at TRM Labs, you play a foundational role in high-velocity hiring. You will lead research efforts to identify top talent in specialized domains, develop market intelligence, and build strategic longlists to accelerate hiring for technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build organizational charts and talent maps across key companies and sectors.
  • Partner with recruiters and hiring managers to clarify search criteria.
  • Translate vague ideas into actionable frameworks and longlists.
  • Deliver competitive insights on compensation, location trends, and hiring velocity.
  • Maintain and refresh longlists with just-in-time sourcing.
  • Improve research workflows, tooling, templates, and data accuracy.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years in talent research, executive search, or sourcing with a strong research component.
  • Experience building talent maps and org charts for technical or executive roles.
  • Proficiency with tools like LinkedIn Insights, LinkedIn Recruiter, Gem, Airtable, or GSheets.
  • Analytical mindset with ability to generate actionable insights from data.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management with asynchronous collaboration experience.
  • Bonus: Research experience in blockchain, crypto security, fintech fraud, or government threat intelligence.

The Team & Work Environment

The talent team is fully remote with async communication through Slack. Weekly syncs and bi-weekly meetings ensure structured alignment across time zones, typically overlapping with PST hours (7am–12pm PST) for effective real-time collaboration.

Initial Impact

  • Deliver a longlist, org chart, and market snapshots within 72 hours.
  • Provide competitor analyses and compensation benchmarks in the first week.
  • Identify teammates for referral mapping and pipeline expansion.
  • Refresh passive candidate pools bi-weekly.
  • Develop research templates, dashboards, and longlist management best practices.
