Food Safety Consultant - TriVista

This position requires the ability to travel up to 75% of the time. Our corporate office is located in Orange County, CA. Employees in this position are permitted to reside anywhere in the United States, provided they have reliable access to a major airport within close proximity to support business travel needs.

Position Summary

TriVista Consultants play a key role in the delivery of consulting engagements for Private Equity clients and their portfolio companies. They develop solutions to our clients’ most complex and impactful business problems with a focus on strategy, operations, and enterprise value improvement. Consultants are involved in a variety of assessment and execution projects including pre-sale due diligence, financial and operational performance improvement, and merger integration. They focus on almost any element of the value chain – from new product development to sourcing and procurement, sales inventory and operations planning (SIOP), manufacturing, distribution, transportation, network optimization, and product rationalization and profitability improvement. In addition, Consultants lead a variety of internal operational activities including development of training material and white papers, conducting research, and providing analytical project support. Consultants have extensive experience working in a supply chain or operations role as an industry practitioner supply chain or as a consultant in a large global or top-tier boutique consulting firm. They frequently interface with clients on site and will be required to travel up to 75% of the time. Our corporate office is located in Orange County, CA. Ability and willingness to undertake travel domestically and internationally is required.

Responsibilities

  • Under senior TriVista leadership, support engagement teams serving PE and portfolio company clients across various industries, while demonstrating executive presence with PE clients and C-level management teams
  • Provide service excellence by identifying key client business issues and providing advanced analytics to solve client problems
  • Develop high-quality written deliverable documents
  • Support the development and presentation of proposals for business development activities
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required, assigned, or requested

Skills and Qualifications

  • 4+ years of relevant operational industry experience in Quality Assurance/Control in a food, beverage, or dietary supplement manufacturing environment
  • Cross-functional experience in operational areas such as manufacturing, maintenance, safety, new product development, engineering, purchasing, sourcing, supply chain management etc.
  • Understanding of regulatory body (FDA, USDA, etc.) and 3rd party audit certification (SQF, BRC, ISO, etc.) requirements in the food industry
  • Knowledge of industry standard food safety program requirements and best practices
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – able to clearly express ideas and recommendations to a broad spectrum of client employees from manufacturing personnel to CEOs
  • Self-motivated with high initiative and drive to complete assignments on time with exceptional quality
  • Accurate and detail oriented
  • Highly organized and able to balance multiple priorities
  • Effective project management skills – able to plan and manage team activities, report creation and client communications
  • Proficient user of MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel (VLOOKUPs and pivot tables)
  • Other analytical and data visualization tools are beneficial (e.g. R, Tableau, Power BI, etc.)
  • Basic knowledge of return-on-investment analysis
  • Basic understanding of financial elements such as impact of labor, material, and operating expenses on profitability
  • Familiar with basic financial statements such as the income statement and balance sheet

Education

  • 4-year degree, preferably with a focus in food science, engineering, operations management, supply chain management, business, or other related field AND/OR combination of education and relevant experience
  • MBA preferred
  • Lean and/or Six Sigma Green Belt (minimum) certification or ability to obtain upon hire

Pay Transparency Statement

The salary range for this position reflects our good-faith estimate of the minimum and maximum base pay for the role at the time of posting. The actual pay offered may vary based on factors such as the candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions. For example, a candidate with the minimum required experience and qualifications may receive an offer near the lower end of the range, while a candidate with extensive experience and specialized expertise may receive an offer near the top of the range. In addition to base salary, employees are eligible for performance bonuses and a comprehensive benefits package.

Consultant Level: $100,000 -$115,000

Sr Consultant Level: $115,000 - $135,000
