Role Overview

The Staff Data Engineer Data Architect role on the Data and Cloud Engineering team requires deep expertise in AWS, Azure and strong technical leadership. The candidate will design, build, and implement robust cloud-based data pipelines, ensure high data quality and governance, and optimize cloud infrastructure using IaC tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.

Responsibilities

  • Lead design and implementation of scalable cloud-based data pipelines.
  • Ensure robust code quality, architecture, and best practices.
  • Manage cloud resources, optimize costs, and enable high availability.
  • Automate provisioning using IaC tools with security and compliance in focus.
  • Collaborate with teams to deliver comprehensive cloud solutions.
  • Oversee monitoring, maintenance, and scalability of cloud infrastructures.
  • Implement data governance policies for high data quality and security.
  • Continuously identify process improvements and adopt emerging technologies.

Tech Stack

This role involves working with AWS services such as Glue, Lambda, and Step Functions; data tools including Redshift, PostgreSQL, and Snowflake; DevOps tools like Terraform and CloudFormation; programming languages such as Python, SQL, and Bash; and containerization platforms like Docker and Kubernetes.

Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Data Engineering with focus on data architecture.
  • Proficiency in AWS and Azure cloud platforms and respective data services.
  • Strong ETL, data warehousing, and big data technologies experience.
  • Practical knowledge in SQL, Python, and infrastructure as code tools.
  • Experience in containerization, orchestration, and CI/CD practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical problem-solving skills.
  • Openness to utilize AI tools such as Cursor in daily tasks.

Job Location & Work Model

This is a remote role available in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Croatia. Only local employment contracts are offered, not freelancing.
