Position Overview: Senior Data Engineer Data Architect

This role is based within the Data and Cloud Engineering team. The candidate will lead the design and implementation of robust, scalable, and secure cloud-based data pipelines and architectures, leveraging AWS with potential future migration to MS Azure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and implement cloud data pipelines and architectures.
  • Manage cloud resources, optimize costs, and ensure high availability.
  • Automate deployments using IaC tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and ARM templates.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet data needs.
  • Implement data governance policies ensuring data quality and security.
  • Stay updated on emerging cloud and data technologies and utilize AI tools.

Tech Stack and Tools

Infrastructure: Glue, Lambda, Step Function, Batch, ECS, QuickSight, Sagemaker, Dagster, Machine Learning DevOps: CloudFormation, Terraform, Git, CodeBuild Database: Redshift, PostgreSQL, DynamoDB, Athena (Trino), Snowflake, Databricks Languages: Bash, Python (PySpark, Pydantic, PyArrow), SQL

What We Expect

  • Minimum 8 years experience in Data Engineering with strong data architecture skills.
  • Extensive experience with AWS and Azure cloud platforms and data services.
  • Expertise in ETL processes, data warehousing, and big data technologies.
  • Proficiency in SQL, Python and use of IaC tools.
  • Experience with containerization, orchestration, CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and analytical skills.
  • Openness to using AI (Cursor) as an integral tool in daily operations.

Work Arrangement and Location

This is a remote role with local employment contracts available in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Portugal, Spain, Italy, and Croatia.
