IS Desktop Specialist

Are you passionate about technology and excel at resolving issues efficiently to keep customers productive? As an IS Desktop Specialist at Trimble Corporate IS, you'll be at the forefront of our department, leveraging your expertise to provide exceptional help desk support and maintain the department's image and credibility. This role demands strong customer service, professionalism, communication, and robust technical skills, focusing on service desk support, ticket queue coordination, process ownership, inventory control, and project participation.

What You Will Do

  • Support a diverse range of end-users at our Chennai office, collaborating with other IS departments to ensure operational efficiency and address technical needs.
  • Deliver world-class customer service as part of a cohesive global IS team.
  • Provide comprehensive desktop support, including hardware and software deployment.
  • Maintain a high level of customer service and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Resolve technical issues independently or with team resources promptly and effectively.
  • Communicate clearly with peers, IS staff, management, and other employees to support end-users and the corporate IS infrastructure.
  • Apply excellent troubleshooting skills across various hardware, specifically Dell, Apple, mobile phones, and tablets.
  • Work effectively within a multilingual team environment, collaborating across sites in central Europe.

What Skills & Experience You Should Bring

  • Proficiency in selecting and utilizing predefined tools to solve problems effectively.
  • Ability to document technical information within ITSM systems and manage the ticket lifecycle.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Relevant IT certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, or similar.
  • At least 2 years of related experience.
  • Capability to set up, operate, and troubleshoot a wide array of equipment and systems.
  • Extensive experience with Windows, mobile devices, tablets, printers, and conference room equipment.
  • Basic network troubleshooting knowledge.
  • Good experience deploying and troubleshooting macOS and Linux using existing tools and documentation.
  • Solid understanding of computer hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience handling and coordinating with various IT vendors.
  • Strong knowledge of conference room setups and video conferencing device troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with monitoring UPS alerts and activities.
  • Experience with Google Workspace for enterprise collaboration is a valuable plus.

Job Location

This position is located on-site at our Chennai office. Due to the nature of the work, on-site presence is required, and a work-from-home option is not available.
