About the Role
Join Alpha School in revolutionizing reading education with a groundbreaking 2-Hour Learning model. As a Literacy Coach, you will design adaptive, AI-driven reading programs and lead interactive, tech-driven workshops.
What You Will Be Doing
- Conduct adaptive reading workshops covering phonics, comprehension, and fluency.
- Create personalized motivational sessions with gamified literacy milestones.
- Evaluate student data to refine instruction.
- Partner with the tech team to improve AI literacy tools.
- Develop scalable content for diverse reading journeys.
What You Won’t Be Doing
- Following a fixed curriculum that ignores student needs.
- Spending excessive time on administrative tasks.
- Handling overcrowded classrooms without resources.
- Focusing on behavior management over reading instruction.
- Working in isolation from program and product development.
Key Responsibilities
Create an adaptable, AI-driven reading program that empowers early elementary students to reach grade-level proficiency and fosters a lifelong passion for reading.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or similar).
- Minimum of 2 years experience in small-group reading interventions.
- Expertise in assessing reading levels and designing differentiated instruction.
- Proficiency with AI/adaptive learning tools.
- Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
- Willingness to work on-site at select campuses (Tampa, FL; Austin, TX; Plano, TX; Fort Worth, TX; Spotswood, NJ; Dorado, Puerto Rico).

Working with Us
This is a full-time, long-term independent contractor position with Crossover as the Contractor of Record. Compensation is set at $50 USD/hour, equating to $100,000 USD/year based on 40 hours per week over 50 weeks.
