About the role

About TRIBBU

At TRIBBU, we connect people to share car journeys daily, aiming to make our cities more sustainable and connected. After over 6 years as a B2B platform, we've finally opened our platform to the general public, allowing any individual to share a car. It's been incredible! In just a few months, we've multiplied our monthly active users by 30, reaching 1 MILLION shared trips in a single month. This presents a technological challenge on par with products like Cabify or Glovo, involving real-time tracking, matching algorithms, payment optimization, and a scalable infrastructure. We are looking for energetic talent with critical thinking and a desire to make a mark, who wants to join a small technical team (under 15 developers) with enormous impact. We are almost 50 people building the future of urban mobility.

SOLUTION ARCHITECT

What if you could design the foundations of something that moves millions of people?

At TRIBBU, we don't just want to write code; we want to build world-class infrastructure.

And that can't be achieved with tools alone.

It's built with architects who see the complete picture.

We believe structure matters.

That a well-thought-out architecture can make a team fly… or come to a halt.

That's why we're looking for someone who wants to take on an uncommon challenge:

connect all the dots of our technology so that complexity appears simple.

You're not coming here to theorize.

You're coming here to make things scale.

And that's why we're looking for you 💗

Objectives of this role

We want you to be the person who makes:

  • Our pieces (backend, data, infra, and mobile) fit together like a perfect puzzle.
  • Today's technical decisions not be tomorrow's nightmares.
  • The technical team feel they have a clear direction and a solid structure to rely on.

Your mission will be to elevate our technical vision, bringing pragmatism and a holistic view to every scalability challenge.

Your responsibilities

Designing the technical future
  • Define and evolve a coherent architecture across backend, infrastructure, and data.
  • Guide the evolution of our Google Cloud platform towards full automation.
  • Modernize processes: from the use of cache and queues to deployment strategy.
Being the bridge that connects teams
  • Act as a technical liaison between Data, Backend, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Ensure solutions are compatible, scalable, and aligned with the global vision.
  • Eliminate bottlenecks before they become operational problems.
Elevating the engineering standard
  • Drive best practices in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/OpenTofu), and observability.
  • Lead the on-call, post-mortem, and system reliability culture.
  • Document technical decisions to reduce ambiguity and align the entire team.

A day here might look like…

  • You start by analyzing how to optimize Cloud SQL access patterns to improve the performance of our API in Laravel.
  • You meet with the Data team to define how to better integrate Customer.io events into our BigQuery without adding friction to the product.
  • You design a smooth transition to move our manual processes to automated pipelines in Github Actions.
  • You participate in an architecture session to decide the best technology to replace our current queue system with something more robust.
  • You write a clear and concise ADR (Architectural Decision Record) that helps the entire team understand why we took a specific technical path.
  • You review alerts in Grafana and propose an improvement in observability that allows us to detect errors before the user notices them.

In this role, every decision you make supports TRIBBU's growth: you are the one who ensures our technology is as unstoppable as our growth.

How success looks in this role

You'll know you're doing it right when:

  • There is a shared and clear technical vision among all teams.
  • The path to infrastructure as code is a tangible and standardized reality.
  • Observability allows us to sleep soundly: we know what's happening and why.
  • Deployments flow frictionlessly, and system integrations are clean.
  • The technical team grows in autonomy thanks to the guidance and standards you've helped build.

Level of ownership

This role has real autonomy.

  • You will have complete freedom to propose structural and process changes.
  • You will be able to directly influence the choice of technologies and tools.
  • You will be a key voice in the technical committee to decide how we scale to the next million users.

Your squad

  • CTO and Tech Leads: to align long-term strategy.
  • Backend, Data, and Infra Teams: you will be their guide and greatest ally.
  • Product Managers: to understand business needs and translate them into viable technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Solid experience in software architecture, platform, or Staff/Principal Engineer roles.
  • Cross-functional vision: you understand everything from backend to cloud and data systems.
  • Real experience with Google Cloud (or AWS/Azure with a desire to switch to GCP).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), and containers (Docker/K8s).
  • Pragmatic mindset: you know how to balance ideal architecture with business timelines.
  • Use of AI in your workflow to boost productivity.
  • Extreme ownership and willingness to get your hands dirty when necessary.

This role is NOT for you if…

  • You prefer designing on paper but not getting into the implementation details.
  • You are comfortable with
