Job Description

Tria Federal (Tria) is seeking a talented Senior Solutions Architect to support a large-scale Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Office of Information and Technology (OIT) Infrastructure Operations program focused on Application Services supporting mission-critical enterprise applications and operational environments. The Senior Solutions Architect will provide technical leadership supporting middleware environments, enterprise application operations, database environments, cybersecurity initiatives, operational sustainment, web infrastructure, and enterprise modernization efforts. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with engineering teams, operational stakeholders, customer leadership, and cybersecurity personnel to design scalable and resilient enterprise application solutions across complex federal environments. This role supports the agency’s modernization efforts by improving enterprise application resiliency, supporting middleware and database modernization initiatives, enhancing operational sustainment capabilities, and ensuring secure and reliable enterprise application services across highly visible operational systems. *CONTINGENT UPON CONTRACT AWARD*

Basic Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience supporting enterprise application environments with at least 8 years serving in technical architecture or engineering leadership roles.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Experience supporting enterprise operational environments within the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Department of Defense (DoD), or other federal agencies.
  • Hands-on experience supporting: Oracle WebLogic, Apache Tomcat, Enterprise middleware environments, Oracle databases, SQL Server, Enterprise web infrastructure, Managed File Transfer systems, PKI environments.
  • Experience supporting enterprise application modernization and operational sustainment initiatives.
  • Experience supporting cybersecurity operations and compliance initiatives including: RMF, ATO support, Vulnerability management, Continuous monitoring, Operational hardening, Security compliance reporting.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise application integration, middleware architecture, operational sustainment, and operational governance.
  • Experience supporting highly visible enterprise operational environments within healthcare or mission-critical federal ecosystems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical architecture concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Additional Qualifications

  • CISSP certification preferred.
  • TOGAF certification preferred.
  • Oracle or middleware certifications preferred.
  • Experience supporting enterprise operational resiliency initiatives.
  • Experience supporting large-scale operational sustainment environments.
  • Familiarity with federal cybersecurity and compliance frameworks including RMF and NIST.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership supporting enterprise application operational environments, middleware ecosystems, database environments, cybersecurity operations, PKI operations, web infrastructure, and operational sustainment initiatives.
  • Design and support enterprise middleware and application integration environments leveraging WebLogic, Tomcat, Oracle, SQL Server, and enterprise web infrastructure technologies.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, operational stakeholders, and cybersecurity personnel supporting RMF compliance, continuous monitoring, vulnerability remediation, operational hardening, and operational governance initiatives.
  • Support operational modernization and resiliency initiatives focused on improving application sustainment, operational optimization, and enterprise operational continuity.
  • Develop architecture documentation, engineering designs, operational procedures, implementation strategies, and technical roadmaps while providing technical guidance and mentorship to operational engineering and sustainment teams supporting highly visible enterprise healthcare operational systems.
