Role Overview
The Global Field Service Commissioning Engineer is a key member of our Field Services Delivery and Support department. You will install, maintain, repair, and service our electronic hardware and software-based control and safety systems at customer sites worldwide. This customer-facing, hands-on role covers shipyards, onboard ships, offshore installations, and terminal installations globally.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- On-site installation, commissioning, repair, modification and troubleshooting of Gas Transfer products.
- Provide internal support to Systems Engineering and Design departments.
- Conduct routine maintenance tasks including site surveys, technical audits, and system health checks.
- Assist customers remotely (telephone, email, remote access) and on-site during emergencies.
- Prepare technical documentation, customer service reports, and update project files.
- Perform pre-mobilization tests, factory acceptance tests, and site acceptance tests.
- Train customers and new staff on operational procedures and technical aspects.
- Organize logistics and project preparations for customer visits.
- Ensure accurate updates of installation databases and technical recommendations.
Education & Experience
Applicants must have a HNC/HND/B.Sc./B.Eng in Electronic Engineering or equivalent. Prior experience in electronic commissioning, preferably in marine, oil & gas, or heavy industry sectors, is highly valued. Internal product training will be provided.
Competencies
Key competencies include experience in electronic/electrical/software control systems (SCADA, PLC, DCS), troubleshooting, fault finding, schematic analysis, and familiarity with hazardous area equipment. Excellent communication and strong customer-facing skills are essential.
Travel & Working Conditions
This role requires global travel (approximately 70% travel) and may involve out-of-hours work. You must possess a current driving licence, passport, and be prepared for international assignments.
