Principal Pavement Engineer
Transport for NSW is seeking an experienced pavement engineering professional to shape the future of pavement engineering practice. Role Overview
Reporting to the Director Pavements & Geotechnical Discipline, the Principal Pavement Engineer will lead a team of specialists. Key responsibilities include developing and providing technical expertise in rigid pavements, flexible pavements, sprayed seals, asphalt technology, and pavement performance to deliver cost-effective solutions.

The ideal candidate is a highly qualified and experienced pavement engineering professional with a proven track record in delivering practical, robust, and cost-effective pavement solutions. You are passionate about building team capabilities and fostering technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities and Qualifications:
- Experience in a senior pavement engineering role, providing specialist technical advice and managing risks on complex infrastructure projects.
- Demonstrated success in building, leading, and developing high-performing specialist teams, including mentoring and capability development.
- A strong track record of driving innovation, implementing new ways of working, and positively influencing change.
- A consultative and service delivery-focused mindset, balancing technical excellence with project outcomes and constraints.
- Highly developed communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts and present compelling arguments to diverse stakeholders.
