About the Role
Join Transcom as a Lead Backend Developer! In this role, you will lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust, scalable, and efficient backend systems that support the company’s products and services. This role involves ensuring technical excellence through best practices and rigorous testing, while fostering a collaborative environment where team members can grow and succeed.
Responsibilities:
- Be responsible for team growth and development
- Align technical solutions with business goals
- Contribute to the technical roadmap and implementing continuous improvements
- Build and maintain backend systems that meet current needs and are prepared to scale and evolve with future demands
- Be responsible for optimizing system performance
- Oversee the implementation of system architecture, including databases, APIs, and microservices
- Ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
- Build and lead a team of engineers across their employment journey
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including frontend engineers, product managers, and designers
- Ensure backend systems adhere to security best practices and compliance requirements

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. or B.S.) or relevant IT and work experience
- 7+ years of software engineering experience
- Strong experience in JavaScript, our core stack is node.js
- REST API development experience is a must
- Demonstrated development & deployment experience in Cloud environments (GCP is an advantage; AWS or Azure)
- Good experience with different database technologies
- Experience following an Agile development framework
- Detailed-oriented but able to see the big picture
- Excellent communication skills and a team player attitude
- A desire to lead, mentor and support the team
- Fluency (C1) in English is a must (both written and spoken)
