Role Overview
The Sr. Solutions Architect Cloud Native leads TradeStation's internal Kubernetes platform team. This role involves technical leadership and team management in building and operating container orchestration infrastructure that powers trading systems.
Main Responsibilities
- Team Leadership & Management: Lead a high-impact Kubernetes platform team, handle hiring, performance, and mentoring.
- Platform Architecture & Engineering: Architect and evolve multi-region Kubernetes strategies, design platform services and self-service tooling, implement infrastructure as code using Terraform.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure financial services SLAs, develop runbooks and incident procedures, integrate AI-assisted development tools into workflows.
Required Skills & Experience
- Expert-level Kubernetes knowledge including control plane internals and multi-cluster operations.
- Deep AWS experience with EKS, VPC, and IAM, alongside proficiency in Terraform.
- Hands-on experience with GitOps (ArgoCD), service mesh (Cilium), CI/CD platforms, and observability stacks like Datadog.
- Strong programming skills in Python, Go, or similar languages for platform tooling.
- Leadership experience with mentoring and guiding platform engineering teams.
- Experience in financial services or trading systems is preferred.
Qualifications
- B.S. or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years in software engineering, DevOps, or platform engineering.
- 5+ years with Kubernetes in production and AWS/cloud experience.
- 3+ years in a progressive technical leadership role.
- Desired: Certified Kubernetes Administrator and AWS Certified Solutions Architect.
