What You'll Be Doing as a Compliance Intern
The Compliance Assurance Function at Trade Republic is responsible for monitoring and reviewing processes and controls that ensure compliance with banking regulations. This includes the oversight of complaints management and all communication with the German Banking Regulator BaFin regarding complaints.
- Conduct independent reviews of processes and controls regarding investments (WpHG), anti-money laundering (GWG), and complaints.
- Collaborate with internal teams to obtain relevant information regarding processes and controls.
- Research our internal systems to gather relevant evidence for sample checks.
- Apply SQL queries in Snowflake to gather data.
What We're Looking For
- Enrolled in or completed a university degree (e.g., economics, business studies, law, computer science, mathematics, physics, humanities, or other relevant fields).
- Highly motivated to learn about regulatory requirements and compliance within the financial industry.
- Initial experience in financial services or advisory is an advantage.
- Strong interest in banking, finance, capital markets, and their regulatory frameworks.
- Independent working attitude with a strong adherence to deadlines.
- Effective communication skills, dedication, and strong organisational abilities.
- Proactive and open-minded attitude, unafraid of new challenges.
