AI Security Engineer

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is seeking a highly motivated Senior AI Security Engineer to join their Cloud Security Centre of Excellence. This role will focus on securing Artificial Intelligence (AI) across the business, operating at the intersection of cloud security and AI. You will be responsible for configuring detection and response tooling, reviewing AI solution architectures, and providing guidance to engineering, data science, and risk teams.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Configure, deploy, and maintain AI-driven detection and response capabilities across the enterprise security environment.
• Monitor AI security tooling for anomalous behavior, false positives, and detection efficacy, tuning policies and rules to optimize performance.
• Develop and refine detection policies, response playbooks, and automated workflows for AI-powered threat identification.
• Conduct architecture reviews of AI and machine learning solutions, evaluating security posture and risk.
• Provide security guidance and best practices to cross-functional teams adopting cloud-based AI services.
• Evaluate and recommend security controls for large language model deployments, including prompt injection mitigation, data leakage prevention, and model access governance.
• Partner with cloud engineering teams to ensure AI workloads follow security baselines and comply with enterprise standards.
• Develop and maintain AI security reference architectures, design patterns, and documentation.
• Advise application development, data science, and risk/compliance teams on secure integration of AI capabilities.
• Contribute to the development of AI security policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Perform risk assessments on third-party AI tools and services.
• Champion a security-first mindset by delivering training and awareness sessions on AI security topics.
• Make contributions to management and solve intermediate to complex business problems.

What You Bring

• 5-7 years of experience in cybersecurity, cloud security, or security engineering.
• Hands-on experience with cloud-based AI/ML services and platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud security principles, architectures, and controls.
• Experience configuring and operationalizing security detection and response tooling.
• Ability to conduct security architecture reviews and communicate findings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Working knowledge of at least one major cloud platform with an emphasis on security services.

Added bonus if you have

• Familiarity with AI/ML threat landscapes (prompt injection, data poisoning, etc.).
• Experience developing security policies, standards, or reference documentation.
• Self-motivated individual who thrives in ambiguous environments.
• Experience performing risk assessments on third-party technologies.
• Fundamentals on emerging AI threats and evolving security frameworks.
