Job Description
Context and Environment
As an Asset Management Associate, you will join TotalEnergies' asset management team, focusing on the long-term financial and commercial performance and compliance of a diverse portfolio including DG and Utility Scale solar, storage, and wind assets. This role involves close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to manage commercial, contractual, regulatory, and reporting obligations, ensuring compliance and maximizing return on investment for project investors.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the team as a general manager and commercial lead for operating assets, adopting an ownership mindset for decision-making and project accountability.
- Monitor project level profit & loss (P&L) activities to ensure expected financial returns are met.
- Coordinate with the accounting team for timely and accurate monthly accruals, GL entries, and internal reporting.
- Prepare performance reporting and variance analysis for both internal and external audiences.
- Assist with the preparation and processing of purchase orders and invoice payments for project expenses.
- Administer all project level financing agreements, including construction loan draws, lease payments, and investor cash distributions.
- Oversee the fulfillment and compliance of all project-level contracts such as PPAs, LGIAs, O&M, EPC, and financing agreements.
- Engage with key project stakeholders, including cash and tax equity investors, offtakers, landowners, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Perform analyses to identify potential actions for reducing operating costs and/or improving revenue across the operating portfolio.
- Support cross-functional teams in resolving material issues impacting assigned assets (e.g., commercial disputes, warranty claims, environmental/regulatory violations).
- Monitor and drive PV plant operational performance by collaborating with the operations team to prioritize improvement initiatives.
- Oversee project level compliance with all regulatory and environmental requirements, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Business, Accounting, or a related field.
- At least 2-4 years of relevant experience, ideally in renewable energy development, operations, or finance, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Prior experience in asset management, project finance, or project development.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly advanced Excel.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, and strong work ethic, with the ability to proactively manage diverse relationships and multiple complex projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing company environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and financial modeling skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism, and ability to collaborate effectively with diverse business groups and functions within a global company.
- Knowledge of renewable energy technologies, solar markets, and related regulatory issues.
- This position is based in Austin, Texas.
