About the Office of the General Counsel and Board Secretariat (GCBS)
The Office is responsible for providing strategic legal, compliance, privacy and risk advice, facilitating decision-making, and enabling the University to fulfill its academic mission. It handles legal services, privacy, access to information, compliance, enterprise risk management and Board coordination.
The Opportunity
The Governance & Projects Coordinator provides governance and administrative support for the Board of Governors and Committees. This role includes coordinating committee processes, ensuring the effective implementation of governance activities, and managing day-to-day operations of the Board Secretariat.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate governance functions for Board Secretariat including member onboarding and training.
- Manage document review, distribution, scheduling, and project management.
- Administer meetings by preparing agendas, minutes, and logistical arrangements.
- Provide operational support in hiring, employee onboarding, and financial transactions.
- Ensure effective governance protocols and best practices across committees.
Qualifications
A relevant post-secondary degree is required. A minimum of three years’ experience in governance and administrative support is expected with a strong understanding of board governance processes, project management, and excellent communication. Experience with governance protocols, scheduling, interdepartmental coordination, and financial support is essential. The position requires strong written and verbal communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion.
