Original Job Summary

Overview

The Toronto District School Board is seeking an Analyst I System Security Administration for a permanent 12-month position. Reporting to the Senior Analyst, this role focuses on designing and implementing security groups, logical storage structures, and login scripts for TDSB user accounts, Exchange, and Mac Admin subsystems in a large environment.

Summary of Duties

  • Support and maintain production system configurations for Microsoft Exchange and Mac Admin for 300,000+ accounts
  • Manage security groups and login scripts for user access
  • Design storage structures and security definitions in a Windows Active Directory environment
  • Implement system changes, test back-out options, and integrate new systems
  • Automate IT processes for account administration
  • Conduct problem resolution, root cause analysis, and capacity planning with the Senior Analyst
  • Engage in cyber security incident investigations including response, containment, and forensics
  • Collaborate with application and system development teams for secure system deployments
  • Assist with backup/restore subsystem integrity and test environments
  • Perform additional IT Services duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • University Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field with three years of progressive experience
  • Courses toward Microsoft Systems Engineer and MS Exchange (MCSE) certification
  • Proficient with Microsoft product sets, LDAP, Visual Basic, VBA, C#, SQL, and PowerShell
  • Solid working knowledge of Active Directory, Directory Services, ACLs, and security management
  • Understanding of PKI, SIEM, Identity management, and encryption technologies
  • Strong change management, analytical, problem-solving, project management, and communication skills

Special Requirements & Work Details

Must be available on call during evenings, weekends, extended vacations and willing to work overtime. This hybrid role is based at 140 Borough Drive and adheres to TDSB's flexible working arrangements policy.
