Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager Forestry Services role at Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) is a permanent full-time position based at the Restoration Services Centre. You will manage multiple complex forestry projects while supervising the Forestry Services team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Authorize forestry operations using RPF certification.
  • Provide technical expertise in forestry sciences and forest management.
  • Lead municipal and agency partnership projects and fee agreements.
  • Establish project goals, control procedures, and quality assurance plans.
  • Oversee contractors, consultants, and manage timelines, budgets, and scope.
  • Coordinate grant applications and external funding proposals.
  • Maintain and cultivate stakeholder relationships.
  • Lead and develop forestry and arboriculture team members.
  • Manage recruitment, performance reviews, and staffing decisions.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or Forestry.
  • Registered Professional Forester (RPF) certification.
  • Managed Forest Plan Approver (MFPA) and Ontario Pesticide Exterminator’s License.
  • Valid Ontario Class G2 driver's license.
  • Min. 5 years managing multi-disciplinary forestry projects.
  • 1+ years of progressive managerial or project management experience.
