The Team
This role is not a traditional IT position—it combines IT operations, software engineering, workflow automation, and AI enablement. As an IT Engineer, Automation & Support at Torch, you will triage issues, resolve bugs, author PRs, deploy changes, design automations, and enable teams to leverage AI tools across the organization.
Your Role
- IT Operations & Administration: Day-to-day IT support, employee lifecycle management, and administration of Google Workspace and mobile device management (Kandji).
- Automation, Integration & AI Development: Design and deploy custom integrations using REST APIs, low-code platforms, cloud solutions, and AI platforms.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with various teams to convert business requirements into technical solutions and act as a consultant on AI and automation.
- Customer Support & Engineering: Investigate issues, document root causes, resolve bugs, review PRs, and build self-service tools.
Core Requirements
- 5+ years experience in IT engineering or similar roles.
- Hands-on experience with Git/GitHub workflows and cloud platforms (AWS/GCP).
- Proven track record in resolving production issues, authoring PRs, and deploying fixes.
- Experience with REST API integration and AI platforms.
- Google Workspace administration and mobile device management expertise.
Technical Capabilities
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Ruby, React, or JavaScript.
- Ability to design and deploy AI-powered applications.
- Knowledge in AI agent frameworks and orchestration platforms.
- Experience with low-code platforms preferred.
- SaaS systems administration and integration background.
Professional Skills
- Strong problem-solving and solution-oriented skills.
- Excellent communication with non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to think like a product manager while executing like an engineer.
- Flexible in working across multiple technology stacks.
Interview Process
The process includes an initial interview with the hiring manager, a second interview with the Information Security Officer, a technical presentation and Q&A with engineering staff, and a leadership/cultural fit interview with the CTO.
