Meet the Team

Torc's Autonomy Applications software uses deep learning techniques to perceive the vehicle's environment, predict other vehicles' movements, and execute driving decisions. As a senior machine learning engineer in the Lidar/Radar Branch within the Feature Development department, you will shape the future of autonomous vehicles using AI.

What you'll do

  • Optimize Lidar and Radar-based ML models.
  • Collaborate with model development teams for seamless integration.
  • Fine-tune and benchmark models using data science techniques.
  • Develop model conversion, deployment, and integration pipelines.
  • Deploy ML models on edge devices ensuring real-time performance.
  • Optimize inference pipelines for embedded and automotive-grade platforms.
  • Work cross-functionally with autonomy, software, and hardware teams.
  • Define performance metrics with product and operations teams.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor's in computer science, data science, AI or related field with 4-6+ years experience, or a Master's with 2-4+ years.
  • Deep understanding of ML for lidar or radar-based object detection and classification.
  • Proficiency in Python and frameworks like PyTorch or Ray.
  • Good understanding of C++ with a track record of shipping ML products.
  • Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.

Bonus Points

  • PhD in machine learning or data science.
  • Experience with writing CUDA kernels and custom PyTorch operations.
  • Familiarity with NVIDIA libraries (CUBLAS, CuDNN, NPP) and mastery of Ray.

Compensation

US Pay Range: $153,200—$183,800 USD.
