Job Summary
As a Pre-Sales Engineer at Toptal, you will work directly with clients to understand their needs, custom-match them with developers from our talent network, and support the matching process through engagement and feedback.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with clients to identify and understand technical requirements.
- Custom-match clients with engineering experts across various specialties.
- Manage the matching process end-to-end ensuring a positive experience.
- Write engaging and professional job descriptions to attract top talent.
- Facilitate introductions that highlight talent experience and skills.
- Track and integrate client and talent feedback for continuous improvement.
- Work cross-functionally to remove process friction and address engagement issues.
Qualifications and Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Minimum 3+ years experience in software projects or recruiting for developers.
- Experience in leading remote client sales or consultative interviews preferred.
- Proven ability to scope and prepare project proposals.
- Excellent communication, relationship development, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Familiarity with communication tools like phone, Zoom, email, and Slack.
- Strong strategic thinking and entrepreneurial mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage tight deadlines, and adapt quickly.
- Must be a world-class individual contributor.
