The Role

The Destination Strategy Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the delivery of destination strategies, marketing plans, tourism policies, and placemaking projects. You will manage project timelines, budgets, and client relationships while ensuring that projects meet the needs of destination management organizations, tourism authorities, and public-private partnerships.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project & Client Management: Lead projects from initiation to completion, manage client communications, timelines, deliverables, budgets, contracts, financial reporting and risk.
  • Destination Strategy & Policy Delivery: Develop Destination Experience Development Plans, management plans and masterplans using market research and data analysis, with a focus on sustainability and inclusivity.
  • Destination Marketing & Branding: Oversee marketing plans and campaigns in collaboration with creative and digital teams, and monitor performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate workshops, consultations, and meetings with DMOs, government agencies and private partners.
  • Business Growth & Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for new services and contribute to refining internal processes.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in tourism, urban planning, marketing, business administration, or related fields. 5+ years’ experience in project management or consulting, ideally in tourism, destination development, or placemaking. Proven skills in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, strong strategic thinking, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with project management software (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, MS Project).
