Job Description

Are you an experienced optometrist passionate about clinical research and ophthalmic innovation? Join our Clinical Affairs team to design and conduct clinical studies, perform advanced diagnostic testing, and support the development and validation of new technologies in eye care.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead or support clinical study design, execution, and monitoring.
  • Act as Principal or Sub-Investigator following GCP, FDA, ISO, IRB, and MHRA standards.
  • Present clinical findings and contribute to publications and conferences.
  • Perform comprehensive eye exams and advanced imaging including OCT, fundus photography, biometry, and visual fields.
  • Recruit and monitor study participants for safety and protocol compliance.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, and Product teams.
  • Train clinical staff and investigators on devices and protocol execution.
  • Oversee daily clinical research site operations and support budgeting and vendor contracts.
  • Identify funding opportunities and assist with grant applications.

What You Bring

  • Doctor of Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution.
  • Active UK license (or eligibility); California licensure is a plus.
  • 3+ years’ experience in optometry with clinical and research expertise.
  • Experience as Principal Investigator or Sub-Investigator in clinical trials.
  • Advanced knowledge of diagnostic equipment and ophthalmic imaging modalities.
  • Solid understanding of GCP and international regulatory standards.
  • Strong project management and collaborative skills.
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% within the UK.
