Overview

Toole Design Group in Boston, MA is seeking an experienced full-time Senior Multimodal Engineer to lead innovative transportation projects focusing on Complete Streets, pedestrian, and bicycle facility design. This role requires strong project management skills as well as the ability to build and mentor interdisciplinary teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead complete lifecycle of multimodal transportation projects from concept to construction.
  • Develop preliminary and final design plans, feasibility studies, and construction documents.
  • Manage public sector projects ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Drive business development efforts in Boston and the Northeastern region.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or master’s degree in civil/transportation engineering.
  • Professional engineering license (Massachusetts preferred).
  • 10+ years of relevant experience and 3+ years in project management.
  • Expertise in Complete Streets, bicycle, and pedestrian design.
  • Familiarity with MassDOT, City of Boston, AASHTO, NACTO, and related standards.
