Head of Technology, Artificial Intelligence

Overview

Venture outside the ordinary at TMX Group. As the Head of Technology, Artificial Intelligence, you will lead and scale AI and ML initiatives by building practical solutions on top of foundation models. You will set the technical roadmap, architecture, and standards for all AI-driven products and services.

Responsibilities

• Technical Roadmap: Define and communicate the long-term technology vision and strategy for integrating Generative AI into core workflows.
• Agentic Framework Architecture: Architect and deploy multi-agent systems for autonomous task execution.
• Innovation: Identify emerging AI technologies and trends to drive competitive differentiation.
• Budget & Resources: Manage budget, resources and technology stack with strategic build vs buy decisions.
• Platform Leadership: Oversee development of scalable, reliable, and secure LLMOps and Agentic platforms.
• Standards & Governance: Establish best practices, coding standards, and ethical AI guidelines.
• System Scalability: Direct engineering teams in designing AI systems for scale, latency and availability.
• Team Building: Recruit, mentor and coach a world-class team of AI Engineers.
• Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as the technical interface between the AI team and other departments.
• Performance & Delivery: Ensure timely execution of AI projects that drive measurable business outcomes.

Required Skill Set

• 8+ years of technology experience with practical AI/ML applications.
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• Experience in deploying Machine Learning or Generative AI solutions on major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
• Expertise in modern AI architectures, Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow), and distributed computing.
• Exceptional leadership, management, and communication skills.

Salary & Additional Information

Salary Range: $145,000 - $165,000 CAD (guideline only; final offer based on experience).
