Overview

The Business Data Analyst - US Customs and Border Patrol supports the Checkpoint Modernization Program Office (CPMO) by gathering, analyzing, and translating business and operational data into actionable insights. This role is central to data-driven decision making for acquisition planning, performance monitoring, and program risk management across a $1.5 billion modernization portfolio.

Key Responsibilities

Data Management & Analysis:

  • Collect, consolidate, and analyze program, financial, and performance data from various modernization projects.
  • Develop and maintain dashboards, metrics, and risk tracking tools.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative analyses to assess cost, schedule, and performance impacts.

Business Process & Requirements Support:

  • Document and improve business processes, workflows, and data flows aligned with CBP modernization goals.
  • Elicit and refine business and functional requirements for acquisition planning and reporting tools.
  • Support the preparation of independent government cost estimates (IGCEs) and budget planning data.

Acquisition & Program Support:

  • Provide data for market research, acquisition strategy, and contracting milestones.
  • Assist in drafting and maintaining key program documents including SOWs, PWSs, J&As, and risk registers.
  • Monitor and document contract modifications, obligations, and key deliverables.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Prepare briefings, visualizations, and reports for senior CBP and DHS leadership.
  • Support meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements by providing timely data insights and follow-up documentation.
