About the role

About TinySeed

TinySeed is a startup accelerator and venture capital firm with a suite of offerings aimed at ambitious software-as-a-service (SaaS) founders looking to grow their companies. We run TinySeed, the gold standard SaaS startup accelerator; MicroConf, the largest worldwide community for founders of bootstrapped and indie SaaS companies; and SaaS Institute, our premium coaching community for seven- and eight-figure SaaS founders.

We're hiring a Digital Marketing Manager to own the marketing function across all of these brands — set the strategy, prioritize the work, and execute on it. Reach across our owned media (email lists, podcast and YouTube audiences) exceeds 125,000 startup founders, and your role is both to market our products to that audience and to grow that audience.

You'll report to our Head of Product, Tracy Osborn. This is a full-time, remote position with occasional travel for events.

What You’ll Own

Strategic ownership
  • Set the marketing strategy across TinySeed, MicroConf, and SaaS Institute — decide what to prioritize, what to sequence, and what to deprioritize
  • Translate broad business goals into specific initiatives, KPIs, and timelines
  • Identify what's working and what isn't, and adjust as needed
Marketing execution
  • Use email, landing pages, and other direct-response tactics to sell our digital products: the startup accelerator, premium coaching community, in-person and virtual events, paid mastermind matching, a video course, and a subscription membership community
  • Lead the creation of high-impact content (blogs, newsletters, case studies, and social posts) including writing significant amounts of copy yourself
  • Design and execute campaigns to promote our services and events
  • Oversee email marketing, social media, SEO/SEM, and (potentially) paid advertising
Brand & relationships
  • Elevate the firm’s brand positioning as a leader in venture capital, founder coaching, and entrepreneurship
  • Ensure consistency in branding, messaging, and tone across all communication channels
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, partners, and the media
Analytics & optimization
  • Monitor and report on campaign performance against KPIs we've defined for each initiative
  • Use data to optimize, kill what isn't working, and double down on what is
  • Stay current on marketing trends and tools, and have a point of view on which are worth adopting

An Overview of Your First 90 Days

  • First 30 days: Audit our current marketing across TinySeed, MicroConf, and SaaS Institute. Understand the products, the audiences, the funnels, and what's been tried.
  • Days 30-60: Bring us a prioritized 12-month marketing plan with clear KPIs, sequencing, and resource needs. Defend your prioritization: we'll push back, and we want someone who can hold a position with reasoning.
  • Days 60-90: Begin executing on the highest-priority initiatives, with clear metrics for whether they're working. Not everything will work; we want someone who can run experiments, measure them, and iterate.

Skills Needed for This Role

We’re a small team wearing many hats. You’ll never hear anyone say “that’s not my job.”

The ideal person for this role will have a strong interest in working in the startup and venture capital space, a great eye for detail, and a passion for setting up repeatable systems and processes

  • 5+ years in marketing roles where you owned both strategy and execution
  • Demonstrated ability to take a vague business goal and turn it into a prioritized, measurable plan
  • Comfort with ambiguity. You don't need someone to tell you what to work on; you figure it out and bring recommendations
  • Excitement about juggling multiple products while keeping the big picture in mind
  • Strong analytical chops. You can look at data, identify what's working, and make decisions about where to invest more or pull back
  • Marketing copy that sells and sounds like a person wrote it. We don't care if AI is in your workflow; we care that the final product doesn't sound like it. You can spot AI tells a mile away and edit them out before anything ships
  • Ability to adopt our brand voice in writing
  • Fluency with AI as a working partner, not just a chatbot. You've used AI to plan campaigns, analyze data, pressure-test strategy, and accomplish complex tasks, not just to generate copy
  • Comfort with no-code and online tools — GSuite, Zapier, Airtable, Make, Notion, web-based CRMs. You see them as creative tools, not technical hurdles, and you can find the right tool for the right problem
  • (Bonus) A strong knowledge of bootstrapped startups; (double bonus) with SaaS
  • Based in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, or Western Europe and willing to have five hours of overlap with U.S. Pacific Time

You'll also work closely with experienced founders and operators, and have visibility into how a small, profitable, multi-brand business actually runs.
