Job Description

About Tinder's Mission

Launched in 2012, Tinder® revolutionized how people meet, growing from 1 match to one billion matches in just two years. This rapid growth demonstrates its ability to fulfill a fundamental human need: real connection. Today, the app has been downloaded over 630 million times, leading to over 97 billion matches, serving approximately 50 million users per month in 190 countries and 45+ languages - a scale unmatched by any other app in the category. In 2024, Tinder won four Effie Awards for its first-ever global brand campaign, “It Starts with a Swipe”™.

Our Values

  • One Team, One Dream: We work hand-in-hand, building Tinder for our members. We succeed together when we work collaboratively across functions, teams, and time zones, and think outside the box to achieve our company vision and mission.
  • Own It: We take accountability and strive to make a positive impact in all aspects of our business, through ownership, innovation, and a commitment to excellence.
  • Never Stop Learning: We cultivate a culture where it’s safe to take risks. We seek out input, share honest feedback, celebrate our wins, and learn from our mistakes in order to continue improving.
  • Spark Solutions: We’re problem solvers, focusing on how to best move forward when faced with obstacles. We don’t dwell on the past or on the issues at hand, but instead look at how to stay agile and overcome hurdles to achieve our goals.
  • Embrace Our Differences: We are intentional about building a workplace that reflects the rich diversity of our members. By leveraging different perspectives and other ways of thinking, we build better experiences for our members and our team.

About the Role

Match Group is looking for a Senior Director of Social Media to lead and evolve Tinder’s social and integrated marketing strategy across the region. This is a high-impact role sitting at the center of the paid, owned, and earned media ecosystem, with the opportunity to shape how one of the world’s most recognizable brands shows up culturally and connects with audiences.

As a key strategic leader, you’ll act as the primary liaison to US global leadership, ensuring strong alignment while also bringing a distinctly regional lens to execution and innovation.

This role can be based in Dublin (preferred), London, or Paris, and offers the chance to work across a diverse, high-performing international team. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, EMEA, you’ll partner closely with Country Heads across the UK, Germany, France, Spain, and Italy, as well as regional leaders in Paid Media and Brand Partnerships. Together, you’ll drive cohesive, insight-led campaigns that elevate Tinder’s voice and impact across markets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and define Tinder’s editorial, creative, and influencer strategy across EMEA, building a cohesive social brand that balances regional consistency with local cultural nuance.
  • Drive a strong focus on owned and earned media, shaping how Tinder shows up organically across platforms and markets.
  • Act as the primary regional point of contact for key platform partners (e.g., TikTok, Meta, Google) on editorial and content strategy.
  • Break down silos and scale best practices across markets—improving efficiency, consistency, and overall impact.
  • Ensure all campaigns, activations, and cultural moments are “social by design,” embedded within a comprehensive influencer and talent strategy (spanning music, fashion, sports, and entertainment).
  • Unlock cross-market opportunities by scaling successful initiatives across multiple territories.
  • Position social media at the intersection of Marketing and Communications, driving cultural relevance—especially with Gen Z audiences—and ensuring Tinder is part of key conversations and trends.
  • Provide strategic leadership within a matrix organization, setting standards of excellence and guiding regional Marketing and Integrated Marcomms teams.
  • Lead innovation and experimentation across social media and integrated marketing, including new formats, platform strategies, and product-led initiatives.
  • Redefine and optimize cross-functional ways of working, including collaboration with teams such as Legal.
  • Partner closely with Integrated Marcomms leads in each country to evolve how Tinder approaches Influencers, PR, and Events across the region.
  • Drive success through growth in social channels—increasing scale, engagement, sentiment, and ultimately word-of-mouth impact to support top-of-funnel member acquisition.

Skills & Experience:

  • 7+ years of senior-level experience within an EMEA scope for a global brand, ideally in a direct-to-consumer or tech environment, with a strong track record in social media innovation and integrated marketing communications.
  • Proven ability to translate both creative vision and business objectives into impactful strategies, with clear examples of success and scalable best practices.
  • Experience in agency environments and/or major global media platforms is a plus, but not required.
  • A strategic and creative thinker who can connect big-picture vision with executional excellence.
  • An inspiring leader and collaborative team player, with the ability to influence, challenge, and align cross-functional stakeholders within a matrixed organization.
  • Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to craft clear, compelling narratives.
  • Strong experience engaging with senior executives, including delivering concise, high-impact presentations to leadership.
  • Fluent in English; additional European language skills (French, German, Italian, and/or Spanish) are a strong plus.

Commitment to Inclusion

At Tinder, we don’t just accept difference, we celebrate it. We strive to build a workplace that reflects the rich diversity of our members around the world, and we value unique perspectives and backgrounds. Even if you don’t meet all the listed qualifications, we invite you to apply and show us how your skills could transfer. Tinder is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace where we welcome people of all sexes, gender identities, races, ethnicities, disabilities, and other lived experiences.
