About the Role
Timmons Group is seeking an Electrical Engineer II - Renewable Energy to join our Renewable Energy Department in the Electrical Design Group. This position is based in our Charlotte, NC office and focuses on power generation and renewable energy projects, including solar farms and battery storage projects.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers in designing power generation and renewable energy projects.
- Assist with power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades.
- Produce electrical engineering designs under supervision.
- Provide input to senior staff on design calculations and engineering solutions.
- Participate in creating engineering services proposals and assist in budgeting.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- At least six years of professional electrical experience.
- Five or more years in relay coordination and schematic design.
- Experience in detailed design engineering and/or owner’s engineering preferred.
- Engineer in Training Certification / Professional Engineer registration is strongly preferred.
- Experience leading a group of engineers is a plus.
- Proficiency with ETAP or SKM software and AutoCAD.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
- Must be legally eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
