Electrical Design Engineer II - Renewable Energy
Timmons Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer II to join our Renewable Energy Department in our Charlotte, NC office. This role focuses on design for power generation and renewable energy projects, including solar farms and battery storage projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support Project Managers on design of power generation and renewable energy projects.
- Assist in the design of power plant and switchyard electrical system upgrades.
- Produce electrical engineering designs under supervision.
- Contribute to engineering proposals, time estimates, and budget development.
- Provide input on design issues and engineering solutions.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
- 6+ years of professional electrical experience.
- 5+ years of relay coordination and schematic design experience.
- Experience in detailed design or owner’s engineering for generating facilities/substations.
- Engineer in Training Certification/Professional Engineer registration preferred.
- Experience with ETAP or SKM software, AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
