Electrical Design Engineer II Position at Timmons Group

Timmons Group is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer II to join our Renewable Energy Department in Charlotte, NC. The role primarily focuses on design aspects for power generation and renewable energy projects including solar farms and battery storage projects.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers with power generation and renewable energy project designs.
• Assist in electrical system upgrades for power plants and switchyards.
• Produce electrical engineering designs under project supervision.
• Provide design input based on calculations and engineering solutions.
• Participate in engineering proposals and budget development.

Skills & Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• Six or more years of professional electrical experience.
• Five or more years of relay coordination and schematic design experience.
• Experience in detailed design engineering for generation facilities or substations preferred.
• Engineer in Training Certification or Professional Engineer registration is strongly preferred.
• Experience with ETAP or SKM software; proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
• Detail-oriented, self-motivated with excellent communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without sponsorship.
