As a Solutions Architect (pre-sales) at TigerData, you’ll sit at the intersection of Sales, Product, and Engineering, helping some of the most technical teams design and scale systems on PostgreSQL.

You’ll partner closely with Account Executives to win deals, but the real job is earning trust with engineers. That means getting hands-on: thinking through data models, digging into query performance, and designing architectures that hold up in production. You will be acting as a pre-sales engineer within our sales organization.

Some days that’s whiteboarding with a customer. Other days, it’s troubleshooting a slow query or rethinking how data is structured. This role is equal parts builder, translator, and problem-solver.

If you like getting into the weeds with customers, influencing real technical decisions, and seeing how things actually run in production, not just in slides, you’ll enjoy this role.

Location:

TigerData is a remote-first company. For coverage, we’re currently focusing on hiring in US time zones.

What you’ll actually be doing

• Owning the technical side of deals by helping move customers from “this looks interesting” to “we’re confident this will work.”
• Working directly with customers to design scalable systems using PostgreSQL and TigerData
• Going deep on real problems: schema design, query optimization, performance issues, and architectural tradeoffs
• Acting as a trusted technical partner from the first conversation through early adoption
• Collaborating closely with Product, Engineering, Support, and Customer Success - bringing real customer feedback back into the product
• Building things that scale your impact: demos, reference architectures, benchmarks, and technical content
• Using AI tools where they actually help - whether that’s analyzing queries faster, exploring architectures, or speeding up how you build and share solutions
• Staying curious and continuously learning (Postgres ecosystem, cloud infra, emerging data patterns, etc.)

You could be a great fit if you…

• Have worked in a Solutions Architect / Sales Engineer / pre-sales role for a technical or developer-focused product
• Have real, hands-on experience with relational databases at scale (PostgreSQL is a big plus)
• Are comfortable talking through data models, query plans, performance tuning, and system design with engineers
• Understand cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) and modern data stacks (ETL pipelines, storage, compute)
• Can switch gears between a deep technical conversation and a higher-level business discussion
• Like figuring things out - you don’t need everything to be documented to get started
• Are already using (or at least experimenting with) AI tools to work faster and smarter
