System Analyst/Researcher 4G/5G at Tieto

This position is within the R&D area for the telecommunication industry in Poland, primarily focusing on research and analysis tasks. While based in Poland, Tieto offers flexibility with work locations, allowing for 100% home office or work from Wrocław, Szczecin, Poznań, Kraków, or Warszawa.

Your Team

• Responsible for delivering new feature specifications and algorithms for 5G, leveraging machine learning and AI solutions.
• Comprises approximately 35 multinational members, with some Polish team-members being English-speaking.
• Organized into specialized sub-teams, allowing for individual specialization.
• Collaborates closely with other Tieto teams located in Poland, Sweden, and China.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

• Drive and contribute to system studies in 5G, specifically in Radio Resource Management (e.g., Scheduling, Link Adaptation, Beam Forming, Carrier Aggregation, Fast Cell Coordination) and the Radio Physical Layer.
• Work collaboratively on new features, simulations, and improvements with cross-functional development teams.
• Develop software simulations for performance analysis of 5G features and algorithms, covering both link-level and network-level simulations.
• Contribute to advances in 5G Standards and foster Innovation and IPR by filing Invention Disclosures and Patents.
• Support the deployment of new 5G products and features into customer networks, understanding configurations and issues.

What We Expect From You

We are looking for a candidate with a strong foundation in communications theory and digital signal processing, coupled with good knowledge of 5G specifications, particularly in L2, DSP, and Radio Resource Management. Some experience in creating L2 simulations is required, along with an analytical mindset, high capacity for work, result-orientation, and the ability to deliver under pressure. Excellent verbal and written English skills are essential for this English-speaking work environment.

Useful Skills & Experience

• Professional experience in a similar telecommunication position.
• Hands-on experience with programming languages such as C, C++, and Java.
• Experience in the analysis of simulations.
