Job Summary - Senior Software Engineer

Ticketmaster is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Private Cloud team. This role is remote and based in Texas, Florida, Arizona, or Ohio. The Senior Manager of Software Engineering will oversee this permanent, full-time position.

The Team

The Private Cloud team at Ticketmaster is responsible for the core on-prem private cloud infrastructure on a global scale. Their mission is to build and maintain reliable, scalable, and secure private cloud services that technology teams worldwide can easily consume and utilize.

The Job

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining software that integrates with Ticketmaster's existing systems and platforms. You will mentor junior team members and collaborate with other teams to develop innovative solutions for infrastructure challenges, effectively leveraging existing technology to meet engineering needs. Software Engineers at Ticketmaster are expected to be adaptable team players who can seamlessly integrate into projects, collaborate effectively, and deliver high-quality features. You will also be responsible for delivering technical analysis on requested business features, performing project estimates, and innovating solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Develop, implement, support, and maintain applications.
  • Create applications using Go, Java, PHP, and Python.
  • Perform object-oriented analysis, applying industry best practices.
  • Create technical specifications for detailed application design.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues.
  • Maintain code quality through unit testing.
  • Document code appropriately for maintainability.
  • Conduct design and code reviews to ensure design principles are followed.
  • Mentor and coach team members around development processes.
  • Participate in daily stand-ups, collaborative sessions, and team meetings.
  • Learn about infrastructure processes to identify opportunities for system creation, improvement, and enhancement.
  • Adapt to a highly competitive business environment with shifting priorities and customer expectations.

Technical Skills/Competencies

  • 4-year college diploma or university degree in computer systems design or computer science, with 2-3 years of work experience.
  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design, web application architecture, scripting, and relational database design.
  • Experience leveraging Claude Code for AI-assisted development, understanding agentic coding workflows for productivity, quality, and security.
  • Experience using MySQL or similar RDBMS with SQL query and stored procedure capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Go, Java, PHP, and Python.
  • Experience with scripting.
  • Experience mentoring.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience working in an Agile or Scrum team structure.
  • Experience creating VMware automation/applications is highly desirable.
  • Knowledge of Virtualization and creating supporting applications.
  • Understanding of cloud computing concepts and private cloud deployments.
  • Knowledge of git-based source control management systems, CI/CD pipelines, and deployment automation.
