Thriveworks is a trusted mental health provider with 340+ locations and a nationwide hybrid care model. We serve over 175,000 clients annually through more than 1.7 million sessions, and those numbers are growing. As a clinician-founded and clinician-led organization, we offer the tools, support, and community you need to build a fulfilling, long-term career.

About The Clinical Supervisor Role

This role involves the provision of clinical supervision to an assigned group of Resident Talk Therapists who provide diagnostic assessments, therapy, and counseling in an outpatient setting for a diverse caseload that can include adults, adolescents, children, couples, and families. Candidates must live in OR, WA, ID, or UT and be licensed within the state of Oregon. This role is eligible for a $12,500 ramp stipend for clinicians offering 25+ hours of availability per week.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide supervision to a minimum of six (6) resident clinicians.
  • Conduct weekly group supervision sessions.
  • Offer individual supervision to each resident clinician for every 15 clinical hours, equating to a minimum of 7 hours/week for a supervisor.
  • Maintain a clinical caseload of seeing clients 15-25 sessions per week (no supervision only).
  • Provide documentation oversight for resident clinicians.
  • Coach resident clinicians on professional and clinical development.
  • Complete weekly documentation for supervision sessions.
  • Document coaching regarding disciplinary or performance concerns.
  • Collaborate with the Regional Clinical Director on performance issues.

Qualifications

  • Enjoys being part of a team and collaborating for professional development.
  • Possesses strong character: integrity, honesty, adaptability, and commitment to quality of care.
  • Ability to be appropriately assertive in coaching residents on professional and clinical goals.
  • Holds an active license in good standing and resides within the state where supervision will be provided (Oregon).
  • Meets state regulatory requirements for supervision, including maintaining necessary licenses and certifications.
  • Active credentialing with required Incident-to panels within the state where supervision will be provided.

Supervisor Requirements for LPC or LCSW in Oregon

For LPCs:
  • Hold an active Oregon LPC license in good standing.
  • Licensed for at least two (2) years beyond initial licensure.
  • Completed a minimum of 30 clock hours of post-master's supervision training from an approved source, covering supervision theory, methods, ethics, multicultural issues, and evaluation.
  • Passed the Oregon Law and Rules Exam.
  • Listed on the Board's Supervisor Registry (as an Approved Supervisor or Supervisor Candidate).
  • Competent in the population and clinical methods used by the associate.
  • No related, romantic, or dual-relationship conflicts with the associate.
For LCSWs:
  • Be an Oregon-licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in good standing.
  • Held an active LCSW license for at least 2 years before beginning supervision.
  • At least 15 hours of training or continuing education in supervision methods prior to supervising.
  • Complete 6 hours of supervision-specific CE every 5 years to remain eligible.
  • Passed the Oregon Laws and Rules Exam within the previous 5 years.
  • Competent in the clinical areas and populations the CSWA will serve.
  • No dual or conflicting relationships with the CSWA (family, romantic, financial, or therapeutic).
  • Supervise only the number of CSWAs that can be responsibly overseen.
  • Able to directly observe, review, and evaluate the CSWA's work.

Compensation & Benefits

This role offers competitive compensation for both clinical caseload and supervision hours. Clinicians receive Fee For Service rates with bonus potential for client sessions (e.g., 90837 could be $55.85 to $64.79).
