About the Role of Analyst at Thomson Reuters
As an Analyst at Thomson Reuters Special Services (TRSS), you will be at the forefront of providing critical research and expertise to the national security community, the U.S. military, law enforcement, and the private sector. This role requires a passionate individual capable of bringing their analysis experience to a world-class organization dedicated to serving and protecting citizens.
You will perform a wide range of work, including due diligence assessments and threat management reports. By leveraging openly available data alongside proprietary holdings, you will develop relevant, insightful products that inform and guide our clients.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide on-site client support, addressing inquiries, fulfilling ad hoc reporting requests, conducting miscellaneous research, and offering advice on analytic methods.
- Deliver insightful, well-researched analysis and guidance to clients through rigorous, in-depth analysis using public records, proprietary data, social media, and other open-source data.
- Become proficient in the latest research and analytic methodologies, and an expert in TRSS proprietary data and technology solutions, effectively communicating actionable insights via various media, including data visualization and processing methods.
- Collaborate closely with client managers and TRSS analysts to foster strong collaborative practices within a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Demonstrate personal accountability and ownership of work, consistently succeeding in progressively more complex tasks, projects, and collaborations.
- Participate in analytic development at TRSS, including mentorship, training, and the creation of analytic best practices.
What We Look For
- Position is contingent on the candidate’s ability to clear a customer specific background investigation.
- Access to highly sensitive public record information means all new hires and current employees in this role will undergo periodic background checks.
- 3+ years previous work experience relating to research and analysis.
- 2+ years experience using public records, open source and/or social media to support research and analysis.
- Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
- Background in risk assessments, financial risk reviews, and/or Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews preferred.
- Familiarity with corporate structures, private equity deals, and/or venture capital deals preferred.
- Strong reading and formal writing skills, with demonstrated ability in composition and source evaluation.
- Strong critical thinking skills and attention to detail, with high proficiency in open-source and research database tools, emphasizing the integration of multiple data streams into a single deliverable.
- Demonstrated ability to engage with project teams and clients in a collegial and professional manner, responding quickly to requests.
- U.S. Citizenship is essential to comply with government contract/agency or department of Federal Government requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
