About the Role

Join Thomson Reuters as an AI Engineer and help build AI-driven software that redefines professional accounting workflows through automation, intelligence, and seamless orchestration.

You will work in a startup-like environment as part of the CoCounsel for Accounting team formed from the acquisition of Materia, collaborating closely with AI/ML engineers, frontend developers, product managers, and designers.

The role includes building core AI interfaces such as Conversations, Workspaces, Grid, and Knowledge Base while ramping up with a mentor and a world-class team.

About You

You are preparing to graduate in Fall 2025 or Spring/Summer 2026 with a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. You have relevant internship, co-op, or industry experience along with strong programming skills in Python or Typescript.

  • Familiarity with AI augmented coding tools such as Cursor, Claude Code, or Copilot.
  • Teamwork and excellent communication skills demonstrated through group projects.
  • A passion for AI-driven software and emerging engineering paradigms.
  • Adaptability in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred Skills & Experience

Experience in project ownership through side projects or hackathons would be an asset. Prior exposure to generative AI products, agent-based architectures, AI APIs (from providers like OpenAI and Anthropic), as well as knowledge of vector databases and embeddings is beneficial.

Exposure to our tech stack including Python/FastAPI, PostgreSQL, AWS, Vercel, Next.js/React, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS is preferred.
